Maribyrnong City
Project 3
The bungalow-style home in Melbourne’s inner west underwent a complete transformation. While preserving the heritage front facade and leadlight windows, the existing house was replaced with a modern, sustainable rear extension.
The rear section, featuring a modular design and clean lines, incorporated SIPs panelling, vaulted cathedral ceilings, and polished concrete floors. The front retained its weatherboard heritage with new parquetry flooring. The rebuild added two bedrooms, an ensuite, a bathroom, laundry, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, and extra storage. Dark Tasmanian blackwood veneer cabinetry was used throughout for consistency, warmth, and modern appeal.
